Device donation: your trusted ITAD solution with real impact

Redefining IT asset disposal

Good Things Foundation’s National Device Bank sets a new standard for responsible IT asset disposal. By partnering with us, your organisation can go beyond traditional IT asset disposal services by donating devices for reuse - giving your old tech new life for people who can’t afford or access their own.

Who can contribute devices to the National Device Bank

We partner with established private & public sector organisations to turn their old tech into opportunities for digital inclusion. The National Device Bank has been designed to accept regular ongoing contributions of 50+ devices per collection to maximise impact

For individuals or organisations with fewer than 50 devices, you can check out alternative options with our friends at Recycle Your Electricals.

Why choose the National Device Bank for ITAD

Donating devices to the National Device Bank is secure, sustainable and socially responsible. Unlike traditional IT asset disposal services, the National Device Bank and our accredited refurbishment partner, Reconome, get discarded devices into the hands of people who need them. We securely wipe and redistribute devices to digitally excluded people, directly addressing the digital divide and fostering social impact.

Industry accredited security processes

From the point of collection, your devices are handled securely. Our vetted drivers use tracked vehicles and devices are insured with signed documentation for accountability.

Devices are taken for refurbishment where they're tagged, tracked, and wiped using Certus Software and Blancco, accredited by the UK National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). This process meets the Ministry of Defence HMG Infosec Enhanced standard, overwriting drives three times. Mobile devices are wiped with Phonecheck. Certus, Blancco, and Phonecheck are all tested and certified by ADISA. Any damaged drives and removable media are crushed in-house and further shredded at an Approved Authorised Treatment Facility (AATF), all by DBS-checked staff. We provide a detailed report and data erasure certificates, ensuring you have comprehensive documentation and secure tech rehoming.

In other words: the National Device Bank is as secure as traditional IT asset disposal services, and we take this incredibly seriously.

Cost-neutral IT asset disposal

Our secure IT asset disposal solution is cost-neutral for your organisation. We manage the entire process - from collection to redistribution - without any cost to you.

Sound too good to be true? It isn't. While we're always hopeful that all tech can be reused, sometimes devices aren't in a usable state. We realise the value from equipment that can’t be reused to cover operational costs. In some cases, we may resell a small percentage of devices to support operations, but always with transparency.

Contribute to your ESG goals by donating devices

Choosing the National Device Bank as your IT asset disposal solution contributes to your organisation’s environmental, social and governance goals.

Reduce e-waste

Donating IT assets such as laptops, mobile phones and tablets means your organisation is contributing to a circular economy where vital electronic materials and resources are reused rather than ending up in landfill. Make a social impact

Device donations will help fix the digital divide, enabling vulnerable people to access the essential online world. So far, almost 10,000 people have received a device because organisations have chosen the National Device Bank for their IT asset disposal. But, there's 1.5 million that still need access to one.
